Selective Insurance is seeking a Property General Adjuster. This is a fully remote position and includes a company vehicle.

The ideal candidate will be located within the Selective footprint to include the Heartland, Mid-Atlantic, Northeast and Southern regions. This role handles larger and more complex Property and Inland Marine claims, investigates the claim, estimates damages, deploys experts, obtains documentation, and settles within authority and standards.

Qualifications

• Must be able to effectively communicate in all situations and negotiate verbally or in writing.
• Must interpret and apply policies, contracts, and leases and recognize issues that could arise.
• Must have exceptional customer service skills.
• Must be proficient in standard business software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and claim-specific software.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to drive.
• Must possess or secure and maintain appropriate state adjuster licenses and CE credits.
• Must be able to work varying shifts.

Responsabilités

• Evaluates and resolves coverage issues for commercial and residential property and inland marine claims within the region.
• Handles coverage determinations, negotiations, reserving, and settlements within authority, including complex losses.
• Provides reports to Claims leadership, Underwriting, Reinsurance, and Actuarial on significant cases.
• Assists/deploys for CAT duty as needed (minimum two weeks).
• Manages vendors and expenses efficiently and effectively.
• Reports on cases going to trial and supports litigation when needed.
• Ensures timely referrals to reinsurers and updates.
