Job summary

Hastings Insurance seeks a Property Claim Representative to support policyholders across Northwest and North Central Ohio. You will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve property claims while delivering responsive, professional service to policyholders and agency partners.

We value strong customer service, sound judgment, and effective communication. This full-time, remote-based role may require travel within the region and involves coordination with independent adjusters and contractors

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent education/experience considered.
• Experience in investigating, evaluating, and resolving property losses.
• Knowledge of property insurance coverage and settlement practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to travel within Northwest/North Central Ohio and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned caseload of property claims from initial investigation through resolution.
• Investigate and evaluate property losses, determine coverage, assess damages, and negotiate settlements.
• Communicate with policyholders, claimants, agents, and other parties to provide updates and explain the process.
• Maintain accurate reserves and document claim activities for auditability.
• Identify salvage, subrogation, and opportunities to minimize costs.
• Coordinate with independent adjusters, contractors, and other experts as needed.
• Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations and company procedures.
