Job summary

Hastings Insurance is seeking an experienced Property Claim Representative to join our Claims team, supporting policyholders across Southern and Eastern Wisconsin. You will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve property claims while delivering responsive, professional service to policyholders and agency partners.

This remote, field-based role requires strong claims knowledge, sound judgment, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of property claims handling experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Strong understanding of property insurance coverage, investigation, damages, and settlements.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication.
• Ability to obtain and maintain applicable state adjuster licenses and continuing education requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of property claims from investigation to resolution.
• Investigate losses, determine coverage, assess damages, and negotiate settlements.
• Communicate with policyholders, claimants, agents, and others to provide updates.
• Establish claim reserves and document claim activities.
• Identify salvage, subrogation, and other cost-saving opportunities.
• Coordinate with independent adjusters, contractors, and experts.
• Flag potential fraud and refer to Special Investigations Unit.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Loss Control, and Sales.
• Maintain compliance with regulations and claim procedures.
