Selective Insurance is seeking a Property Field Claims Specialist for the OH territory. This is a fully remote position and includes a company vehicle. No relocation assistance is offered; reside in the nearby area or relocate at your own expense.

The role handles Property and Inland Marine claims typically $25,000–$100,000, with occasional higher values. Investigates, estimates damages, secures experts, and settles within authority; operates per legal and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Must have the ability to work varying shifts.
• Knowledge of and proficiency in standard business and claim-specific computer software programs, and the ability to keyboard efficiently.
• Must have valid state-issued driver's license in good standing and be able to drive an automobile.
• College degree preferred; 5 years claims experience preferred; knowledge of Commercial and Personal Lines coverages and computer-based damage estimating.

Responsabilités

• Handles property/inland marine claims for assigned region with availability to assist as needed in all other regions.
• Evaluates and settles property-related damages (primarily) between $25,000 and $100,000 (aggregate).
• Occasionally handles losses that exceed $100,000 in aggregate claim value.
• Join the LLU as part of the corporate catastrophe team and respond to catastrophe events within regions.
• Responsible for coverage determinations, negotiations, reserving and settlement within authority.
• Provide coverage and estimating assistance to regional CMS as required by management.
• Respond to legal, regulatory or appeals requests.
• Must drive an automobile to travel within territory; car travel ~75% of time.
