Job summary

Hastings Insurance is seeking an experienced Property Claim Representative to support policyholders across Western Michigan. You'll investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve property claims while delivering timely, professional service.

This remote, field-based role requires strong knowledge of property coverage, excellent communication, and the ability to manage an active caseload, coordinate with adjusters and vendors, and maintain compliant claim files.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years property claims handling experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent education considered.
• Strong knowledge of property insurance coverage and settlement procedures.

Responsibilities

• Manage an assigned caseload from investigation through resolution.
• Investigate losses, determine coverage, assess damages, and negotiate settlements.
• Communicate with policyholders, claimants, agents, and others to provide updates.
• Maintain accurate reserves and document all claim activities.
• Identify salvage, subrogation, and other cost-saving opportunities.
• Coordinate with independent adjusters, contractors, and vendors; flag potential fraud.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Loss Control, and Sales to share claim information.
• Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations and procedures.
