Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Field Claims Specialist II, Property to investigate and resolve moderate to severe property claims by phone, on-site or in the field. This role covers Baltimore, Carroll and Howard counties in MD, with work-from-home flexibility and travel to claim locations 3–4 days a week.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of claims experience, proficiency with Xactimate, and strong communication skills. CAT duty is a requirement.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of insurance field/property claims handling or adjusting experience.
• Proficiency with Xactimate and strong estimate-writing skills.
• Construction background in residential, roofing, remodeling, or water mitigation.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Handle assigned claims promptly with minimal direction.
• Determine policy coverages and apply claims practices.
• Open/close/adjust reserves to ensure adequacy.
• Maintain knowledge of industry repair procedures and pricing.
• Collaborate with SIU and Subrogation to identify fraud.
• Deliver outstanding customer service to Nationwide customers.
