Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company in Baltimore, MD, is seeking a Field Claims Specialist II, Property, to investigate and resolve moderate to severe property damage claims by phone and in person. The role covers Baltimore, Carroll, and Howard counties with a work-from-home arrangement and 3–4 days per week travel to policy locations; CAT duties are included.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of related property claims experience.
• Proficient with Xactimate and claims handling end-to-end.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to inspect rooftops and climb ladders.
• Construction background (Residential/Remodel) and knowledge of local pricing.

Responsibilities

• Handle all assigned claims promptly with minimal supervision.
• Determine proper coverages and apply claims practices per policy.
• Open/close reserves and manage file conferences.
• Conduct physical inspections when traveling to risk locations.
• Provide outstanding customer service to Nationwide customers.
• Collaborate with SIU and Subrogation to identify fraud and subrogation opportunities.
