Job summary

Nationwide is seeking a Field Claims Specialist II, Property in the Northern VA area for remote work with day travel to policy locations. You will investigate and resolve moderate to severe property damage claims by phone and face-to-face, with travel 3-4 days a week.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of claims experience, Xactimate proficiency, and a valid driver’s license; CAT duties are required, with opportunities to support additional territories as needed.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of insurance field/property claims handling or adjusting experience.
• Solid Xactimate proficiency.
• Experience writing estimates from start to finish.
• Construction background (Residential, Roofing, Remodeling, etc.).
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• CAT duty is a requirement of this role.

Responsibilities

• Handles assigned claims promptly with little direction and oversight.
• Determines proper policy coverages and applies claims practices.
• Opens, closes and adjusts reserves according to procedures.
• Maintains knowledge of local repair procedures and pricing.
• Submits severe incident and other reports to claims management as needed.
• Delivers outstanding customer service to Nationwide customers.
