Job summary

Travelers seeks an Associate Claim Rep, Outside Property, to work remotely with assignments in the Northern Virginia or Washington, DC area. The program includes 9–12 months of training in claim handling, customer service, and policy interpretation, with potential for independent claims handling upon completion.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree, internship or experience in customer service or insurance, and willingness to obtain an active adjuster license where required by state law.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Review, investigate, and document 1st party property claims under close supervision.
• Gather information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third-party providers.
• Learn to investigate and evaluate all relevant facts and information to determine coverage.
• Establish accurate scope of damages for building and contents losses.
• Provide timely and professional communication to customers, claimants, and internal stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of claim activity in claim management systems.
• Demonstrate openness to continuous learning and AI/digital transformation.
• Adapt to new technology implementations and system upgrades.
