Job summary

Shearer’s Foods, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to lead capital and reliability projects from concept to startup. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, contractors, equipment suppliers, and site stakeholders to deliver safely, on schedule, and within budget.

This remote role requires extensive travel to Shearer’s locations, with responsibility for equipment selection, commissioning, and startup handoff to operations, while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required.
• Experience managing capital projects in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of process equipment, utilities, automation, and construction management.

Responsibilities

• Lead capital projects from concept through startup and closeout.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and execution plans.
• Manage equipment specification, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, and internal resources.
• Track milestones, risks, issues, and action items.
• Maintain project documentation and turnover packages.
• Ensure safety, quality, environmental, and food safety standards.
• Facilitate startup, operator training, and handoff to operations.
• Provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
