Job summary

Upwork is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead enterprise-scale technical programs in an application security environment. You will coordinate cross-functional initiatives to improve engineering operations, governance, accountability, and security processes.

Qualifications

8–10 years of relevant program or project management experience.
Strong ownership of complex cross-functional initiatives.
Excellent written and verbal communication to leadership.
Experience with PMO governance, progress tracking, and reporting.
Hands-on SQL and/or IQL data analysis for reporting.

Responsibilities

Lead complex cross-functional programs supporting application security and engineering operations.
Track and communicate program progress, risks, blockers, dependencies, and results.
Establish recurring program meetings, cadences, and status reviews.
Create and maintain program docs, action plans, ownership tracking, and risk logs.
Clarify ownership and drive initiatives through completion.
Provide updates and escalation points for leadership.
Coordinate change initiatives across multiple teams.
Investigate ambiguous problems and iterate rapidly.
