Job summary

e4health seeks a Professional Fee Hospitalist Coder for a fully remote, full-time role. You will abstract and encode professional fee data following ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and AMA E/M guidelines, ensuring high accuracy and productivity in a nationwide scope.

Candidates should have AHIMA/AAPC credentials and at least 3 years of US hospital medicine coding experience. Responsibilities include querying physicians for clarification, communicating with CDI and Revenue Cycle teams, and maintaining

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credential is required.
• Experience with profee Hospitalist coding including E/M and bedside CPT is required.
• Experience with Cerner, Optum and Starr is preferred.
• Minimum 3 years’ coding experience.
• Minimum 3 years coding experience within the US is required.

Responsibilities

• Assign ICD-10-CM, E/M, CPT, HCPCS codes and modifiers to professional fee accounts as per designated workflow.
• Abstract and enter coded data and/or charges for physician statistical and reporting requirements.
• May assign/validate professional fee level of service based on E/M Guidelines.
• Query physicians to clarify conflicting, imprecise, incomplete, ambiguous information when appropriate.
• Communicate documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues to appropriate personnel for follow up and resolution.
• Communicate with CDI and Revenue Cycle teams for follow up and reconciliation of accounts.
• Maintain required productivity and quality requirements.
