Job summary

Banner Health seeks an experienced Certified Medical Coder (Profee) for a remote, full‑time role focused on neurology and neurosurgery coding. The candidate will code complex records, abstract data, and ensure CMS/AHIMA/AAPC compliance across diverse cases.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of Neurology/Neurosurgery coding, current CPC/CCS/CCS-P/RHIA/RHIT certification, and can work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment with flexible scheduling after training.

Qualifications

• Requires 3+ years of complex professional coding in neurology and/or neurosurgery.
• Current certification through CPC/CCS/CCS-P/RHIA/RHIT with AHIMA or AAPC.
• Remote work ability with proficiency in coding software and abstracting systems.

Responsibilities

• Code medical records per national guidelines for neurology and neurosurgery.
• Abstract clinical diagnoses and procedures into EMR with complete data.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, Medicaid, OIG and HCFA rules.
• Support department projects, validation edits and revisions as needed.
• Identify validation edits to maintain accurate coding and reimbursement.
