Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Profee Coder | Physician Practice Senior Coder with 5+ years of Cardiology Complex Coding experience (preferably Surgical Cardiology) for a fully remote, full-time role. CPC certification in active status is required, with more than CPC-A. Strong coding experience in Surgical Cardiology is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires Certified Professional Coder (CPC) in active status with AHIMA or AAPC.
• Requires five or more years of specialized, complex professional coding experience.
• Remote work allowed in listed states; complex, senior-level role.

Responsibilities

• Code diagnoses and procedures per national guidelines for multi-specialty physician practices.
• Abstract records into EMR and ensure complete documentation for coding.
• Provide quality assurance and ensure compliance with CMS, HCFA, and state rules.
• Lead training and onboarding of new coders; mentor junior staff.
• Identify and address coding issues and edits; escalate when needed.
• Work autonomously to manage assignments and maintain accuracy.
