Job summary

Banner Health is seeking an experienced Profee Coder with Senior Cardiovascular coding expertise for a fully remote role. You will code complex cardiology procedures, validate diagnoses, and ensure compliance with national guidelines while collaborating with physicians and team members.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in Surgical Cardiology Profee EM coding, CPC/CCS/CCS-P/RHIA/RHIT active, and strong ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with relevant medical record knowledge.
• Requires CPC/CCS/CCS-P/RHIA/RHIT in active status.
• Five+ years of specialized, complex coding experience in clinical specialties.
• Ability to work autonomously with strong critical thinking and organization.
• Experience with remote work setup and necessary software.

Responsibilities

• Code complex physician practice cases using ICD/CPT per guidelines.
• Clarify missing info with providers to ensure accurate codes.
• Ensure compliance with CMS, OIG, HCFA and state rules.
• Compile daily/monthly reports for analysis and quality control.
• Identify and address validation edits to maintain accuracy.
• Mentor less experienced staff and assist in onboarding coders.
• Prioritize work and manage assignments independently.
• Apply LCDs and coding knowledge before escalation.
