Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Production Geologist to support oil and gas operations from a remote location. The role focuses on optimizing hydrocarbon recovery, analyzing production data, and contributing to field development plans.

You will work with production engineers, reservoir engineers, and geoscientists to maximize asset value, interpret well logs, map subsurface geology, and prepare geological reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology or related earth science discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years in production geology within oil & gas.
• Proficiency in well log analysis and interpretation software.
• Experience with geological mapping and modeling software.
• Understanding of reservoir engineering principles and production optimization.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork, especially in a remote setting.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze well logs, core data, and production data to understand reservoir characteristics and performance.
• Map and interpret subsurface geology to support production optimization.
• Identify opportunities for infill drilling, workovers, and other interventions.
• Collaborate with reservoir engineers to update reservoir models based on production performance.
• Monitor producing wells and diagnose geological issues affecting production.
• Prepare geological reports and presentations communicating findings and recommendations.
• Contribute to field development plans and reserve estimations.
• Maintain geological databases and ensure data quality.
