Job summary

Johnson Controls is hiring a Product Technical Support Engineer to provide technical support to the Field Sales & Service organization and Data Center Accounts across all chiller product offerings. This is a remote position for US based candidates.

The role emphasizes troubleshooting, test plan creation, and continuously improving product reliability while collaborating with quality, engineering, and cross-functional teams to reduce lifecycle costs and enhance customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must be able to travel up to 10%.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related Technical/Scientific field required and 2+ years’ experience or if no degree, 6+ years of technical experience with a knowledge of HVAC&R products.
• Analyze and solve complex product system problems.
• Proficient in troubleshooting the refrigeration cycle as applied to air-conditioning duty on Applied Equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day technical support for key Data Center Accounts to Field Sales & Service organization on a global basis via site visit, phone, fax, or email.
• Drive product reliability through the Continuous Improvement Process for both existing products and new products being introduced. Product Technical Support Engineer provides technical support and interacts with quality management and engineering to improve overall lifecycle cost.
• Maintain effectiveness when experiencing changes in work responsibilities or environment; adjust to change and collaborate with others to make it successful.
• Create novel solutions with measurable value for existing and potential customers; promote involvement of coworkers and leverage technology to address problems.
• Place a high priority on the customer perspective; implement service practices that meet customer and organizational needs.
• Identify and understand problems by gathering data; evaluate alternatives and act with clear decision criteria.
