Ladders is seeking a Product Counsel, Data Products to guide global product teams on AI-related legal issues, data protection, and consumer rights. You will partner with engineering, partnerships, privacy, and product stakeholders to support product development from concept through launch in a remote setting.

The role requires 8+ years of legal experience in tech-focused environments, with strong knowledge of GDPR/CCPA and cloud-based API services.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of legal experience in top law firms or in-house with technology companies, with a focus on product development.
• Strong understanding of technology and operational models, especially for cloud-based API services.
• Self-starter who excels in fast-paced environments with multiple priorities.
• High judgment and ownership mindset for decision-making in ambiguous situations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across teams.
• Strong project management abilities to handle shifting priorities under tight deadlines.
• Expertise in AI legal dynamics and global data privacy laws, including GDPR and CCPA.

Responsibilities

• Counsel global product teams on AI-related legal issues, including data protection and consumer rights
• Collaborate with engineering, partnerships, and privacy teams to provide actionable legal advice throughout product development
• Draft and review foundational legal documents for the company's products and services
• Stay informed on consumer financial data regulations and advise on product impacts
• Build trusted advisor relationships with product teams, providing legal and strategic input on product roadmap
