Presbyterian Healthcare Services is hiring a remote PRN medical coder to code inpatient/outpatient hospital, ED, Home Health and professional fee records. The role requires CPT/ICD coding with MS-DRG assignments and compliance with federal regs.

You will review whole records, support QA and Joint Commission reporting, and research records across systems to ensure timely, accurate coding and billing. Benefits and ongoing education are included.

Qualifications

• Must have one of the coding certifications at hire (HCS-D/CCS/CCS-P/CPC-H/CPC or RHIT/RHIA).
• 1–3 years of coder experience.
• Computer skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; encoder and EMR experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Review patient records and assign CPT, ICD and MS-DRG codes for reimbursement and research.
• Abstract data for quality improvement and Joint Commission reporting.
• Research records across systems to complete coding on time and manage accounts receivable.
• Resolve pre-bill edits and denials for assigned accounts.
• Stay updated on ICD-9/10, CPT-4, HCPCS, DRG, APC/HHRG updates.
• Participate in departmental trainings and communicate with the Coding Manager.
• Code across multiple service areas; maintain 95% accuracy.
• Maintain productivity per PHS standards and CE requirements.
