Job summary

Gannett Fleming is seeking an experienced Principal Substation Engineer (Electrical) to lead substation design and project delivery within the Power Group. The role is remote, with responsibilities spanning technical leadership, client relationship building, and cross‑office collaboration.

Required are a BS in Electrical Engineering, PE license, and 15+ years in power/utility design and project management. Advanced degree preferred; AutoCAD/MicroStation/Inventor experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• PE license required.
• Advanced degree strongly preferred.
• 15+ years of design, engineering, and project management experience in power/utilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop substation layouts, plans, elevations, grounding, raceways, and cable lists for new and existing substations.
• Create substation one-line and related electrical schematics, SCADA, and relay panel layouts.
• Prepare calculations, reports, and equipment specifications for substation projects.
• Manage technical, financial, and scheduling aspects of substation projects; may act as PM or client manager.
• Mentor or lead engineers and develop client relationships across offices.
