Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group (CSAA IG) seeks a Principal Software Engineer focused on emerging technology and AI. This remote role accelerates prototyping, evaluates platforms, and shapes architecture while mentoring engineers and aligning with enterprise standards.

You will drive rapid experiments, partner with architecture and delivery teams, and translate findings into scalable solutions across the enterprise. This role emphasizes collaboration, security, and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering
• 10 years Software development experience
• Cloud-native services (e.g., AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, S3)
• Build, integration, and deployment tools (e.g., Jenkins, Maven)
• Programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java/J2EE, Python, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, React)
• Holds applicable certifications aligned to the technology stack

Responsibilities

• Lead technical experiments and prototypes in emerging tech and AI.
• Translate opportunities into hypotheses, experiments, and recommendations.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with enterprise architecture.
• Define design artifacts and architecture guidance.
• Participate in planning and estimation for experiments.
• Collaborate across departments and vendors.
