Job summary

CSAA Insurance Group (CSAA IG) is seeking a Principal Software Engineer focused on Emerging Technology and AI, with remote work options across the United States. You will lead hands-on development, prototype rapid experiments, and shape architecture while collaborating with Architecture, Security, and delivery teams.

You will mentor engineers, evaluate AI platforms and cloud services, and translate exploration outcomes into scalable guidance and reusable patterns for enterprise adoption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, technology, or related field or equivalent combo plus 10+ years of experience.
• 10+ years software development experience.
• Knowledge of cloud-native services and platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience with building and delivering prototypes, PoCs, and pilots.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineers while delivering hands-on technical work.
• Evaluate AI platforms, APIs, cloud services, and data sources for enterprise use.
• Design prototypes and architectural patterns for rapid experimentation.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to ensure governance, security, and scalability.
• Translate experimental results into reusable technical guidance and standards.
