Job summary

Tivly is seeking a Principal Engineer to shape the architecture of our high-traffic insurance platform. You will design scalable distributed systems, lead cross-language development, and drive best practices across product and DevOps teams.

Reporting to the CTO, you will mentor engineers, evaluate new technologies, and guide the technical roadmap while delivering reliable, secure software for growth and innovation.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including backend or platform roles.
• Advanced proficiency in Java, plus hands-on with Kotlin, Python, Go, or TypeScript.
• Proven track record designing, building, and scaling distributed systems and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture and design of distributed systems serving millions of leads and transactions.
• Lead hands-on coding, code reviews, and system optimization across multiple languages.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers and collaborate with Product, DevOps, and Data teams on scalable APIs.
