Job summary

Tivly, a remote role in the United States, is seeking a Principal Engineer to design, build, and scale the core software powering our insurance-leads platform. Reporting to the CTO, you will define technical direction and drive architecture decisions across microservices and polyglot stacks (Java and others).

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with Product, DevOps, and Data teams, ensure security and reliability, and deliver high-quality software that enables growth and innovation at Tivly.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in backend or platform roles.
• Proficient in Java and at least one other language (Kotlin, Python, Go, or TypeScript).
• Experience designing and scaling distributed systems with microservices.
• Strong REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and integrations.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or related field; or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Own architecture of distributed systems serving millions of leads and transactions.
• Lead hands-on coding, reviews, and system optimization.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with Product, DevOps, and Data teams to ship features.
