Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Principal Electrical Controls Engineer to lead development and deployment of advanced control systems for critical data center infrastructure. The role spans wiring harnesses, panel layouts, and equipment integration with a strong emphasis on reliability and safety.

The candidate will design control logic, validate with simulations, and oversee FAT/SAT, plus collaborate across engineering disciplines to ensure scalable, modular solutions. Remote or Austin, travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
8+ years of experience in control system design and implementation.
Expertise in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric).
Building Management Systems (BMS) integration and optimization.
Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS/EDPM).
Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) control and failover logic.

Responsibilities

Define and own control system architecture across multiple platforms (PLCs, BMS, EPMS).
Develop detailed control specifications, FDOs, and interface definitions.
Proficiency in PLC/SCADA programming, HMI development, IT/network integration.
Read and create BOMs, schematics, control diagrams, and sequence of operations.
Define control logic, sensor integration, and communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, SNMP).
Validate systems through simulation, testing, and FAT/SAT activities.
Lead FAT/SAT for new projects and revisions.
Develop system-level simulations and digital twins for validation.
