Job summary

Jabil seeks a Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design for data center power and cooling infrastructure. You will develop robust metal frames, enclosures, and support structures, integrate with electrical and thermal systems, and perform advanced FEM analyses to validate designs under diverse loads.

Responsibilities include creating detailed CAD models, fabrication drawings, BOM management, and engaging with suppliers and customers to ensure quality and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and integrate hydronic cooling systems for data centers, including pumps, piping, valves and heat exchangers.
• Perform load path and fatigue analyses to ensure reliability under static, dynamic, seismic and thermal loads.
• Create CAD models and fabrication drawings for weldments, sheet metal, and machined parts.
• Collaborate with electrical, thermal and systems teams to integrate mechanical designs with components.
• Lead design reviews and participate in cross-functional validation activities.
• Develop and maintain BOMs, specs, test plans, and ECOs.
• Drive DFM, cost reduction and performance improvements in mechanical design.
• Interface with suppliers and customers to resolve fabrication issues and ensure quality.
