Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks a Principal Electrical Controls Engineer to spearhead advanced control systems for data center infrastructure, power management, and industrial automation.

You will design architectures across PLCs, BMS, EPMS and ATS, develop specifications, and guide testing and commissioning to ensure safety and reliability. This remote/Austin-based role requires up to 25% travel and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the control system architecture across PLCs, BMS, EPMS, and ATS systems.
• Develop detailed control system specifications and interface definitions.
• Program PLC/SCADA and develop HMI, and integrate with IT networks and facility equipment.
• Read and create BOMs, schematics, control diagrams, and sequences of operations.
• Define control logic, sensor integration, and communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, SNMP).
• Validate systems via simulation, testing, and commissioning for reliability and safety.
• Lead FAT and SAT for projects; drive system-level simulations and digital twins.
• Architect integration with SCADA/CMMS and cloud monitoring.
• Establish design patterns for modular control logic; mentor engineers.
