Job summary

Jabil's Intelligent Infrastructure Group in Austin, TX seeks a Sr. Principal Electrical Rack Engineer to drive electrical and power solutions for high-performance computing systems.

You will lead end-to-end integration, mentor teams, consult on system architecture, and ensure designs meet safety and international standards. This role requires 8+ years in electrical systems integration, rack-scale power design, familiarity with EIA-310, OCP, 48V busbar, and hands-on testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in electrical systems integration.
• 4+ years of rack-scale electrical/power design and analysis.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, integration strategies, and large-scale program management.
• Familiarity with server design (EIA-310, OCP/ORV3), 48V DC busbar connections, power plugs/receptacles, and power cable routing.
• Proficiency in electrical tools and simulations (AutoCAD, Ansys, PSpice, SCADA, DCIM).
• Hands-on experience with electrical safety tests such as hi-pot, ground-bond, leakage current, and continuity checks.
• Excellent English communication skills and strong technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end integration and testing of rack electrical solutions including medium/low voltage systems and UPS/PDUs.
• Engage with customers and site visits to document deployment constraints and gather feedback.
• Build rack power budgets and model electrical capacity for current and future configurations.
• Manage relationships with vendors to build a robust electrical components ecosystem.
• Ensure rack designs meet NEC/NFPA, IEEE, and UL/IEC safety and certification requirements.
• Design and review rack PDUs, breaker configurations, metering, and load balancing features.
• Perform failure-mode analysis and root-cause investigations for electrical defects.
• Define and improve factory electrical test strategies and validate power architectures.
• Develop and interpret electrical one-line diagrams for rack-level architectures.
• Collaborate with Architects/Compliance/Reliability and global vendors to align architectures with data center standards.
