Job summary

Citizens Financial Group, Inc. seeks a Principal Architect for its Johnston, Rhode Island location. You will lead end-to-end architecture for banking applications, leveraging AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices to achieve scalable, low-latency solutions.

Responsibilities include presenting designs to the architecture review board and collaborating with business, product, software engineering and security teams to deliver on business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 8 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in architecture or similar role.
• Experience with microservices, NoSQL databases, AWS Cloud, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to lead technical direction for cloud-native applications and stakeholders.
• Strong background in Java, J2EE, RESTful APIs, Python, and cloud platforms.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, API Management, and security tooling.

Responsibilities

• Provide end-to-end architecture and design for banking applications using Agile and Cloud technologies.
• Present designs to architecture review board and senior management; collaborate with business, product, software eng and security teams.
• Build highly available, scalable, low-latency applications using microservices and event-driven architectures.
