You will ensure alignment with enterprise standards, govern design reviews, drive cloud pattern adoption, and foster innovation while mentoring junior architects across agile and waterfall projects.

Location: BCBSRI in Rhode Island with hybrid/onsite options; strong communication and analytical

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or CS or related field (or equivalent).
• 5–7 years in software engineering with 4+ years delivering complex distributed systems.
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and AI/ML enablement.
• Expert in API management, microservices, and distributed systems architecture.
• Experience with data governance and analytics platforms.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for cross-level audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead solution designs for medium-to-high complexity features.
• Produce architecture artifacts (HLDs, context diagrams, etc.).
• Evaluate design trade-offs and drive proofs-of-concept.
• Govern design reviews and manage risks, assumptions, and decisions.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise standards and cloud patterns.
• Maintain knowledge base and evolve architecture principles.
• Lead template maintenance for architecture artifacts.
