Job summary

The Dayton VA Medical Center in Dayton, OH is seeking an Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) to support Primary Care Service. The AMSA will help achieve first-contact resolution and Veteran-centered delivery of care.

Responsibilities include handling inquiries, scheduling appointments in GUI/VISTA, providing clear information, and coordinating administrative tasks while maintaining secure communication with patients. This full-time position offers telework options.

Responsibilities

• Provides outstanding customer service by actively listening to customers and addressing needs in a timely manner.
• Responds to inquiries from Veterans, staff and other agencies regarding Veteran's entitlement to care.
• Schedules appointments in GUI and/or VISTA for primary care clinics according to procedures.
• Informs customers about services and directs inquiries to appropriate personnel for resolution.
• Answers, screens, and prioritizes telephone calls; acts as a point of contact for patients and staff.
