Job summary

INSHUR is seeking a Pricing Actuary Contractor to own bespoke risk assessment and experience rating for its largest US commercial auto accounts. This ~3-month, part-time role (~20 hours/week) supports pricing and underwriting collaboration as INSHUR expands across states.

Remote candidates in the US or UK will work with our pricing team to upgrade pricing tools and analyze loss trends, turning imperfect data into accurate, competitive pricing decisions.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering bespoke risk assessments and pricing for large commercial accounts (auto or liability).
• Comfort with cleaning/prepping imperfect data and extracting signal.
• Proven ability to partner with underwriters to translate risk into numbers.
• Ability to build, modify, and improve complex pricing templates in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Drive Large Account Pricing: deliver bespoke experience rating and pricing for high-value commercial auto submissions ($500k+).
• Collaborate with underwriters to evaluate risk characteristics and reflect them in pricing.
• Upgrade pricing tools: own large account pricing template and improve assumptions from analysis.
• Analyze loss trends using internal data and benchmarks to inform strategy.
• Navigate complex data: clean and extract value from imperfect datasets for pricing models.
