Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Preconstruction Project Manager to lead the Preconstruction Group from notice of award through mobilization. The role is fully remote with discussions on location during interview.

The candidate will manage cost control, bid packages, LNTPs, and procurement while coordinating with engineering, accounting, and legal teams to ensure budget and schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree, or equivalent experience.
• Thorough understanding of plans and specifications.
• Field experience (5-8 years, Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent).
• Leadership ability—able to lead a remote, diverse team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office; knowledge of industry tools (Bluebeam Revu).
• Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting.
• Organizational and people skills; detail-oriented.
• Able to travel (estimated 25%).
• 5+ years construction experience; 2+ years scheduling & estimating.

Responsibilities

• Lead Preconstruction Group’s daily management and coordination.
• Maintain cost control ledger and cost statements.
• Prepare billings and expedite payments.
• Set up and maintain the CMiC system.
• Prepare bid packages and evaluate bids.
• Write project procedures and review plans for accuracy.
• Supervise Preconstruction Project Engineers and clerical staff.
• Ensure procurement aligns with LNTP scope, budget, and schedules.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define contracts.
• Track design changes impacting schedule/budget and report to leadership.
