Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking a Preconstruction Project Manager to lead the Preconstruction Group, guiding daily management and successful completion of project scope, budget, and schedule from notice of award to mobilization.

This fully remote role requires coordinating with engineering, procurement, accounting and legal teams to prepare bids, manage CMiC, LNTPs, and cost reporting, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget delivery for nationwide solar, storage and high voltage projects.

Qualifications

• Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree or equivalent experience.
• Thorough understanding of plans and specifications.
• Construction field experience (5-8 years) as Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent.
• Strong leadership and remote team coordination abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Bluebeam Revu.
• Fundamental knowledge of contract law and project accounting.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead Preconstruction Project Engineer duties and coordinate the Preconstruction Group.
• Maintain cost control ledger and project cost statements.
• Prepare billings and expedite payments.
• Set up and maintain CMiC system.
• Prepare bid packages and evaluate bids.
• Write project procedures.
• Review plans for completeness and accuracy.
• Supervise Preconstruction Project Engineers and clerical staff.
• Coordinate procurement with LNTP scope, budget, and schedules.
• Collaborate with engineering, accounting, construction, and legal teams to create contract scopes of work.
• Understand design constraints and lead times to release long lead items during LNTP phase.
• Define and create LNTPs.
• Research and understand project design requirements (internal/owner/permit).
• Liaise with Engineering Manager to track changes affecting schedule/budget and report to Project Executive.
• Represent SOLV Energy in owner meetings.
• Support estimating reconciliation for each design iteration.
• Maintain timely reporting on cost forecasting and EAC.
