Job summary

Capitol Imaging Services is seeking a Regional Pre-Registration & Denial Prevention Specialist to ensure financial clearance before service. This remote role travels as needed and collaborates with CIS facilities, outsourced vendors, and technology partners to verify coverage, benefits, and authorizations prior to scheduling and service.

You will drive front-end accuracy, reduce denials, and improve payment timing by documenting eligibility, benefits, and patient responsibility, while coaching

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare pre-registration, insurance verification, prior authorization, patient access, denial prevention, or revenue cycle operations.
• Knowledge of commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid coverage, benefits, eligibility, authorization, and reimbursement requirements.
• Ability to analyze denial and workflow trends and translate findings into corrective actions.
• Strong communication, organizational, training, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work across facility teams, outsourced vendors, technology partners, and revenue cycle leadership.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily with vendors, partners, and CIS teams to ensure accurate pre-registration and financial clearance.
• Confirm active insurance coverage and eligibility for scheduled service with correct payer, plan, and member details.
• Obtain and document complete benefit information, including copays, coinsurance, deductibles, and remaining balances.
• Communicate patient financial responsibility before service to support informed decisions and time-of-service collections.
• Identify and secure prior authorization, precertification, or referrals as required prior to scheduling and service.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in eligibility, benefits, and registration before they affect care or reimbursement.
• Monitor quality and timeliness of work by vendors and internal teams; escalate gaps and drive corrective action.
• Review denials and payment variances to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Track trends by facility, payer, modality, vendor, and denial reason; recommend actions to prevent recurrence.
• Provide education and workflow guidance to promote consistent pre-registration standards.
