Applied Engineering seeks an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical design and validation across major subsystems. You will translate requirements into robust electrical designs, own schematics, BOMs, and drive design reviews while collaborating with multiple teams nationwide.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in electrical design, strong power system knowledge, and familiarity with NEC/UL standards. Remote work options are available with up to 20% travel within the USA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of industrial experience in electrical design or electromechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution, conversion, monitoring, controls, and system integration.
• Experience designing specifications for switchgear, switchboards, transfer switches, loadbanks, and generators.
• Experience selecting and validating electrical components using NEC, UL, and industry derating criteria.
• Proven experience with design documentation, reviews, testing, validation, and troubleshooting.
• Working knowledge of design standards, manufacturability, safety, and compliance practices.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations for electrical power solutions.
• Ability to specify safe and effective prototype testing practices.

Responsabilités

• Lead electrical design and validation for major subsystems and product areas.
• Translate system requirements into practical, robust electrical designs.
• Own schematics, drawings, calculations, specifications, and bills of material.
• Drive design reviews, trade studies, prototype builds, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems, manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and project teams.
• Mentor early‑career engineers and reinforce electrical design standards.
• Support project planning, effort estimation, and execution.
• Stay current with advancements in power systems, microgrids, renewable energy, and power conversion technologies.
• Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners.
• Contribute to projects that impact communities across North America.
• Apply your skills in a dynamic environment that values ownership and innovation.
