Job summary

Nava is seeking a Policy Strategist to help translate Medicaid policy into actionable system behavior within an integrated eligibility platform. You will collaborate across product, design, and engineering to ensure compliant, effective operations and grounded in real-world policy and program processes.

You will research federal and state requirements, communicate findings clearly, and help teams decide priorities. Remote option available for eligible states.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in policy analysis.
• Experience researching and interpreting policy using statutes, regulations, or authoritative guidance and applying that analysis to program decisions.
• Strong ability to build and nurture relationships with internal teams and external partners.
• Self-directed and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in policy contexts.
• Understanding of public programs at multiple levels of government.
• Ability to document research processes, findings, and recommendations clearly.

Responsibilities

• Policy Translation & Implementation: translate policy into system behavior, workflows, and user experiences.
• Identify regulatory constraints, risks, and ambiguities and propose compliant, user-friendly solutions.
• Create artifacts to support decision-making and prioritization.
• Support testing and validation of policy implementation.
• Research, Strategy & Advocacy: monitor evolving policies and translate into implementation implications.
• Synthesize research into clear written and verbal communications for diverse audiences.
• Build external partnerships to share policy expertise and develop joint work.
• Contribute to advocacy strategy and execution.
