Nava is a government-focused consultancy seeking a Policy Strategist to translate policy into actionable decisions within an integrated eligibility platform. You will turn Medicaid policy analysis into practical recommendations, collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams to ensure compliant, effective systems and operations.

The role involves independent research, prioritization with a cross-functional team, and driving policy implementation across intake, notices, eligibility

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in policy analysis or relevant graduate-level education and experience
• Hands-on experience researching and interpreting policy using statutes, regulations, or agency guidance
• Ability to build and nurture relationships with internal teams and external partners
• Self-directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent written and verbal communication in policy contexts
• Understanding of public programs across multiple government levels
• Ability to document research processes, findings, and recommendations clearly

Responsibilities

• Policy Translation & Implementation: translate policy into system behavior, workflows, and user experiences
• Identify regulatory constraints and propose solutions balancing compliance, UX, and delivery
• Create artifacts to support decision-making and prioritization
• Support testing and validation of policy implementation
• Research, Strategy & Advocacy: conduct landscape research across jurisdictions and translate into implementation implications
• Synthesize research into clear written and verbal communications for diverse audiences
• Build relationships with external partners to exchange lessons and opportunities
• Contribute to advocacy strategy development and execution
