Job summary

Nava Public Benefit Corp. is seeking a Policy Strategist to translate complex Medicaid policy into actionable system behavior and workflows for an integrated eligibility platform.

You will work with product, design, and engineering teams to turn policy into decisions and concrete guidance for implementation and operations. The role requires experience analyzing Medicaid policy, strong written and verbal communication, and comfort working in an agile, human‑centered design environment.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in policy analysis or a combination of graduate education and experience
• Hands‑on experience independently researching and interpreting policy using statutes, regulations, or agency guidance
• Self‑directed and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in technical and policy contexts
• Ability to document research processes, findings, and recommendations clearly and concisely
• Experience with Medicaid eligibility and enrollment policy (applications, verification, renewals, notices, appeals)
• Experience working within agile delivery and human‑centered design processes (sprint ceremonies, design reviews, user research)
• Graduate degree in public policy, public administration, or related field
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• Work authorization that doesn’t require visa sponsorship
• May be subject to a government background check or security clearance

Responsibilities

• Translate policy into system behavior, workflows, and user experiences.
• Identify regulatory constraints, risks, and ambiguities and propose compliant solutions.
• Support testing and validation of policy implementation (scenarios and edge cases).
• Conduct landscape and cross‑jurisdictional research to translate policies into implementation implications.
• Build relationships with external partners to share Nava’s policy expertise
