Job summary

The Planet Group is seeking an Enterprise PMO Lead to drive the development and evolution of the company's project management function, creating visibility into the enterprise portfolio and strengthening governance.

This role partners with executive leadership and business stakeholders across technology, manufacturing, and corporate functions to improve decision-making, drive results, and ensure initiatives align with business capacity and goals. Travel is required.

Qualifications

• Must have experience creating, implementing, or leading a PMO or enterprise project portfolio management function.
• At least 5 years of progressive project or program management experience, including complex enterprise initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, IT, or related field.
• PMP, PgMP, or PRINCE2 Practitioner certification.
• Strong expertise in portfolio governance, prioritization, planning, risk, and delivery standards.
• Experience supporting major ERP implementations or enterprise systems.
• Ability to engage executive stakeholders and present portfolio recommendations.
• Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methods.
• Proven leadership and relationship-building across technology, manufacturing, ops, and corporate functions.
• Willingness to travel regularly to company facilities in the U.S. and Canada, including ~1 week per month in Holstein, IA.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the enterprise PMO with standards, processes, governance practices, and reporting.
• Create a comprehensive view of the project portfolio to support prioritization and resource planning.
• Oversee initiatives across technology, ERP, manufacturing, operations, finance, HR, facilities, and process improvement.
• Coordinate enterprise Steering Committee activities and leadership decisions.
• Establish consistent project delivery expectations and mentor project managers and delivery teams.
• Evaluate portfolio risks, constraints, and dependencies to inform decisions.
• Collaborate with business leaders, IT, partners, and consultants to drive results.
• Deliver portfolio updates with progress, financials, resources, risks, and outcomes.
• Identify opportunities to improve execution, governance, and PMO effectiveness.
