Job summary

Jones Stephens is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive sales growth in the plumbing and mechanical industry. The role focuses on building strong relationships with wholesalers, contractors, and builders, delivering product training, and identifying new business opportunities across the Phoenix, Tucson, Tempe, Gilbert area and potentially Nevada/Los Angeles territories.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of field sales or business development experience in construction related industry.
• Familiarity with selling building products, plumbing systems, HVAC components, or related technical goods.
• Solid understanding of contractor, builder, or trade customer dynamics.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel 50–75% within assigned territory with valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to drive revenue growth and market share within the assigned region.
• Cultivate relationships with key decision-makers among distributors, contractors, builders, and end-users; ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Stay informed on market dynamics, competitor activities, and emerging customer needs; provide insights to senior management.
• Collaborate with distribution partners to improve product visibility and promotional activities; support inventory planning.
• Meet or exceed sales targets, maintain a robust sales pipeline, and provide accurate forecasts using CRM tools.
