Job summary

Sentinel Blue is seeking a Platform Engineer to join our Platforms Team. You will design, build, and maintain scalable, secure cloud infrastructure and tooling that enable internal teams to deploy services quickly and safely.

You will work with IaC, CI/CD, and security-focused platform capabilities, collaborating across Operations and Compliance to meet frameworks like NIST 800-171 and CMMC. This fully remote role offers opportunities for growth into senior engineering or architecture.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in platform engineering, DevOps, or related roles.
• Hands-on infra in Azure; cloud foundations design and automation.
• IaC, automation, configuration management, and change control experience.
• Strong understanding of security concepts: IAM, encryption, logging, segmentation, backup.
• Experience with security/compliance frameworks (CMMC, NIST 800-171); scripting ability.
• Good written and verbal communication; ability to explain platform concepts.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain shared platform services for secure, scalable infra.
• Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform, ARM/Bicep, or similar.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, patching, and lifecycle operations.
• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and integrations.
• Implement platform security controls: identity, logging, encryption, segmentation.
• Collaborate with Security and Compliance teams to embed audit-readiness.
• Monitor platform health, support incident response and RCAs.
• Communicate platform designs and guidance to internal teams and clients.
• Contribute to platform docs, runbooks, and diagrams.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual toil via automation.
