Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Platform Software Engineer for the Sentinel data platform at Roy, Utah. You will design, deploy, and operate cloud-native infrastructure, using Terraform for Databricks, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized services.

Join a team delivering secure, scalable data enablement, collaborating with data engineering and security teams while adhering to Agile/DevSecOps practices and DoD security requirements.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. DoD Secret clearance at time of application
• Security clearance required and within scope
• Experience deploying cloud-native infrastructure using IaC principles
• Terraform or similar infrastructure automation frameworks
• AWS or Azure cloud experience
• Docker and Kubernetes knowledge
• CI/CD pipelines experience (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins)
• Git in collaborative development environments
• Automation scripting (Python, Bash, Go, PowerShell)
• Linux OS, networking, and troubleshooting
• Strong communication with customers and teams

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and operate Sentinel data platform on cloud services
• Implement IaC for Databricks, networking, storage, and security controls
• Build and support CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and quality gates
• Collaborate with data engineering and data science teams to onboard workloads
• Configure containerized services (Docker, Kubernetes) and integrate with platform ecosystem
• Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and health checks
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, and application layers
• Contribute to Agile/DevSecOps tooling, processes, and docs
• Operate within security/compliance constraints with governance teams
