Job summary

Sentinel Blue is seeking a Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure cloud foundations and automation. You’ll develop IaC templates, improve CICD pipelines, and embed security and compliance into platform capabilities across internal and client environments.

You will work with Operations teams to ensure reliability, observability, and alignment with frameworks like CMMC/NIST 800-171.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, DevOps, systems engineering, or related roles.
• Hands-on experience building and operating cloud infrastructure in Azure.
• Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code, automation, configuration management, and change control systems.
• Strong understanding of IAM, logging/monitoring, encryption, network segmentation, and backup/recovery.
• Experience with security/compliance frameworks such as CMMC or NIST 800-171.
• Proficiency with at least one scripting or programming language.
• Demonstrated ability to design reliable systems, troubleshoot issues, and implement scalable solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain platform concepts to non-platform stakeholders.
• CompTIA Security+ certification required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain shared platform services for secure, scalable infrastructure across environments.
• Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform, ARM/Bicep, or similar frameworks.
• Build automation for provisioning, configuration, patching, and lifecycle operations.
• Support and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and platform integrations.
• Implement platform-level security controls including identity, logging, encryption, and segmentation.
• Collaborate with Security Operations and Compliance teams to embed audit-readiness in designs.
• Monitor platform health, support incident response, RCA, and continuous improvement.
• Communicate platform designs and operational guidance clearly to internal teams and clients.
• Contribute to platform documentation, standards, runbooks, and diagrams.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort and improve developer/operator experience through automation.
