Job summary

Bold Penguin is seeking a Platform Engineer to help build and automate foundational services and workflows that support our engineering teams. You’ll streamline internal processes, develop tooling to provision epoxy environments within CI/CD pipelines, create automated data pipelines, and collaborate with peers to improve automated workflows so teams can move faster.

You will work in a fully remote role across the United States, with onboarding and optional in-office events.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of engineering experience in platform or distributed systems.
• Strong Python or Ruby background with cloud-native experience.
• Hands-on AWS experience with container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and IaC deployments.
• Knowledge of monitoring, security, and governance best practices.

Responsibilities

• Automate manual tasks and manage large-scale infrastructure across cloud environments.
• Improve software delivery speed, safety, and reliability via automation.
• Apply security and governance best practices within platform workflows.
• Implement monitoring and observability for automated pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build workflow automations.
• Research and propose tools to improve platform capabilities.
• Other duties as assigned.
