Job summary

Speechify is hiring a Software Engineer, Platform in Tucson, AZ to own the backend powering payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics across our product suite. You will design, implement, and improve high‑volume APIs that serve iOS, Android, Mac, Chrome, and Web apps.

You should bring strong TS/Node backend experience, direct GCP exposure, and comfort deploying with Docker and Kubernetes. We value pragmatic engineers who automate, review outcomes against logs, and prefer clear, evidenced

Qualifications

Back-end development experience with TypeScript/Node.js.
Hands-on GCP experience; familiarity with AWS or Azure.
Proven ability to ship reliable services at scale.
Ability to review work with logs and data rather than summaries.
Willingness to be corrected and learn.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes preferred.
Strong judgment on what not to build.
Comfort with async work and taking ownership.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and own backend APIs for payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics.
Improve existing services for speed, cost, and reliability.
Ensure correctness by adding checks and monitoring.
Automate repetitive tasks and enable team-wide reuse.
Collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams.
Contribute to B2B and enterprise integrations.
Participate in code reviews and taking ownership.
