Job summary

Speechify seeks a Software Engineer, Platform in Durham, NC to design, build, and own backend services powering payments, auth, subscriptions, and analytics for 50M users.

You’ll work with TS/Node, GCP, and containerized deployments, collaborating with product, mobile, and web teams to keep APIs fast and reliable. This role offers autonomy and a flat structure with significant impact on education technology and dyslexia support.

Qualifications

• Backend experience with TypeScript/Node.js.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably GCP.
• Experience automating tasks and improving systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and own the APIs behind payments, subscriptions, auth, and analytics.
• Improve performance, reliability, and scalability of backend services.
• Ensure correctness with automated checks before shipping changes.
• Automate repetitive tasks and reduce manual toil for the team.
• Collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to align backend with product roadmaps.
• Design B2B and enterprise integrations for customers building on top of Speechify.
