Job summary

Baptist Health System, Inc. is seeking a Physician Coder to join our Physician Billing Office on a remote basis. The role focuses on accurate ICD-10-CM and CPT coding across multiple specialties and services, ensuring compliant physician billing from home in approved states.

Requirements include 1–2 years of clinical documentation and E/M coding experience, CPT/ICD-10-CM/HCPCS proficiency, and CPC or CCS-P certification. A High School diploma is required; BA/BS preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years Clinical Documentation experience (Required).
• 1–2 years of Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding experience (Required).
• 1–2 years of physician coding experience, including CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS (Required).
• 1–2 years of outpatient procedural coding experience (Required).
• 1–2 years of minor outpatient and office procedure coding experience (Required).

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and accurately assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and CPT-4 procedure codes.
• Perform evaluation and management (E/M) coding across applicable places of service.
• Code minor office procedures, specialty-specific testing, outpatient procedures, and minor surgeries.
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with established coding guidelines and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Review medical records to support appropriate code assignment and accurate physician billing.
• Identify and resolve coding discrepancies or documentation issues in accordance with established procedures.
