Job summary

Remote Physician Coder position with Baptist Health System, Inc. supports accurate physician coding across multiple specialties, reviewing clinical documentation and applying ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes in line with guidelines and regulations.

Ideal candidate has 1–2 years in clinical documentation, E/M coding, physician coding (CPT/ICD-10-CM/HCPCS), and outpatient coding, with CPC or CCS-P certification preferred. Remote work from approved states.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of clinical documentation experience.
• 1–2 years of E/M coding experience.
• 1–2 years of physician coding experience (CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS).
• 1–2 years of outpatient procedural coding experience.
• 1–2 years of minor outpatient and office procedure coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Review clinical documentation and accurately assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and CPT-4 procedure codes.
• Perform evaluation and management (E/M) coding across applicable places of service.
• Code minor office procedures, specialty-specific testing, outpatient procedures, and minor surgeries.
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with established coding guidelines and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Review medical records to support appropriate code assignment and accurate physician billing.
• Identify and resolve coding discrepancies or documentation issues in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines, regulatory requirements, and specialty-specific coding practices.
