Job summary

Qualifications

• High School graduate (or GED) required.
• 1-2 years professional billing/coding experience; physician practice setting preferred.
• Maintain active CPC, CCS, or RHIT certification through AHIMA or AAPC; physician-based preferred.
• Experience with EPIC preferred; demonstrate coding competency via testing.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assign diagnostic and procedure codes for patient encounters using ICD and CPT guidelines.
• Perform charge entry, review, reconciliation, and error correction to ensure full charge capture.
• Conduct regular manual and electronic coding audits.
• Maintain knowledge of coding rules, guidelines, and classification systems; communicate findings clearly.
